'The Ellen Show' DJ Passes Away
Stephen "tWitch" Boss, best known as the DJ on The Ellen Show and Executive Producer from 2020 to the talk show's end this year, passed away at 40.
The Magic Mike XXL actor, dancer and charismatic television personality died by suicide from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, TMZ reported.
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us," his wife Allison Holker wrote in a statement shared with the New York Post. He was the father of two children. She added, "Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans."
Holker, a professional dancer, actress, and choreographer, continued in her statement: "To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won't be a day that goes by that we won't honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.
"Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you." Holker and Boss celebrated nine years of marriage over the weekend.
Ellen DeGeneres paid tribute to her longtime co-star and friend on Instagram, writing: "I'm heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children - Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia," with a touching photo of the pair hugging.
Holker reportedly ran into an LAPD police station to tell someone that Boss had left the house without his car, which she claimed was unlike him, law enforcement services said.
Police later received a call from an LA hotel, where they found tWitch with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
