Winter Weather

“What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.” - John Steinbeck.

We are seeing beautiful snow-covered mountains and hilltops all across the nation. The winter weather has made its presence known with record rain and snowfall in numerous cities and regions around the United States.

On December 11th and 12th, more than 35 inches of snow fell at Palisades Tahoe ski resort, which is the 6th largest snowfall total in 24 hours on record. And…did you happen to see videos of the NFL Buffalo Bills player whose neighbors had to help clear his driveway, so he could make it to the airport for his game? Mother Nature is in full force!

With all the winter wonderlands, there is a prime opportunity to integrate science topics into these last few lesson plans before winter break. Check out our videos on weather, climate, and the water cycle to bring about relevant and engaging science lessons for the winter season.

Stay Warm!
