Internet Safety

The Internet along with online programs and apps can be wonderful tools for kids. They can use these tools to research people or topics, communicate with experts or their peers, and continue sharpening their skills… especially while away from school during these summer months.

But with online access also comes risks, like inappropriate content or ads, unwanted communication, and cyberbullying. As an online platform, our team at ClassOrbit - comprised of educators, administrators, counselors, and tech wizards (many of which are parents themselves) - understand and value the importance of online safety. We want to assure you that your child’s safety is our main priority.

When in the ClassOrbit platform, you will notice we have zero ads running through our pages. This is intentional as it keeps the viewing session safe and distraction-free for our users, no matter their age. Also, when you sign up for our product, we keep your personal information within our organization; no third-party affiliates here. Your information and your child’s information is secure with us.

While using ClassOrbit, any interactions are channeled through the profile’s administrator, whether that be a school teacher, homeschool lead, parent, etc. Your child will be able to continue to explore various topics of interest within a protected environment free from unwanted communications and interactions

Of course there are other measures of online safety you can take as parents when your kids are browsing the Internet. There are a number of parent-control options through your Internet service providers and even software that blocks access to sites and limits the type of personal information being shared.

However, the best plan as parents is to open up the lines of communication with your kids, at all ages, in order to set realistic guidelines and expectations around Internet use. Be honest about the potential risks and provide quality websites or apps for summer browsing and learning.

Kids have more information at their fingertips now than any generation before. By you taking an active role in your kids' Internet activities, you allow their lives to be enriched by the positive benefits of technology rather than consumed by it.

Explore ClassOrbit and the online world with confidence!
