Breaks are scientifically proven to aide in mental and physical health. Whether it is a small break from doing a task or a larger week-long break from school, breaks are essential as humans. It has been shown that Spring break can be highly beneficial to students’ and teachers’ mental health because this week of vacation allows for a much-needed mental decompression from demanding school-related stressors (homework, social encounters, deadlines, schedules, grades, etc.).
Through the use of real life experience and anecdote, students will understand that although the scientific tools and the scientific process don't seem to relate to various jobs in real life, almost every working uses science and scientific tools daily. Students will learn how each tool can help them learn in school, and how the same tools will help them in life.
