Adaptations: In and To
Paul and his Science Pals
Gavin leads Paul and his friends down a gopher hole expressway to Antarctica - they think! But instead they meet Chaz, the cheetah, a predator who introduces them to a variety of plants and animals uniquely adapted to their African habitat. To connect the vocabulary of the Adaptation unit to physical actions, Tanika leads students in a rhythmic warm-up. Then, outside the Exploration Station, Quinn explores the state park environment he and his family camp in. Medhin explores her own neighborhood. They observe how animals and plants are changing their environment to meet their needs and record their findings with photos and in a journal. Back in the lab they build a chart to analyze their findings.
