Earth Day is held on the same day each year, April 22nd. This year’s theme is Planets vs. Plastics, which is chosen annually by EarthDay.org. With Earth Day being this upcoming Monday, it creates an ideal opportunity to introduce the Earth Day theme and continue students’ understanding of this theme throughout the week!
Discover that all communities—big or small and in different areas—have things in common. Learn that people in a big city might work in a factory, while a person who lives in a small mountain town might make a living by logging. Learn that many children in a farming community belong to 4-H and show animals at fairs for fun, while children in the city might go to museums or amusement parks.
A community is a place where people live, work and play. There are many ways that communities are different from each other because of where they are located and how many people live there.
